FDA recommends BANNING toxic food additive

Brominated vegetable oil, found in some brands of citrus-flavored soda and fruit punch, can have toxic effects, research shows

It’s also been linked to neurologic symptoms in people who drink large quantities of citrus soda — more than 2 liters a day.

The FDA’s decision comes after California banned the ingredient in October by passing the California Food Safety Act

headaches, skin and mucous membrane irritation, fatigue, and loss of muscle 

some research found is toxic effects on the thyroid gland,

 it produces hormones critical for the regulation of blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature and metabolism.
